Bethel’s ministerial and executive leadership express our gratitude for the participation of our
church family in this “You Decide” moment. With humility, based on what we have heard from
each other and what we sense the Spirit saying, we recommend the following future direction.

1. We will renew our desire to follow the Spirit by:

  • Getting back to basics in our commitment to Christ
  • Renewing our faith by being rooted in the Word of God
  • Being creative and willing and ready to accept change

Genesis 1:1-2; Matthew 16:13-19; Matthew 22:37-34; Mark 1:16-17; John 1:1-18; John
3:16-21; Hebrews 4:11-13; Revelation 7:9-12

2. We will ask God to help us think and act as a Church plant:

  • Focusing on our community, find out what it needs, and reach out with the Gospel of Jesus and the Kingdom of God by:
    • Blessing our younger generation to be leaders and develop creative ministry
    • Releasing our seniors to reach out to seniors in our community
    • Praying for the Father’s Kingdom to come and will to be done here
  • Developing mutual care ministry for a healthy, loving church that will focus on:
    • Care and honour for our seniors
    • Those in physical, material and spiritual need
    • Newcomers and seekers
  • Committing to share our gifts, time, talents and resources toward this purpose
  • Reframing our governance and organizational structure for renewed mission, including becoming a society

Matthew 28:16-20; Luke 10:1-9; John 4:34-38; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians
12-13; Ephesians 3:7-12; Ephesians 4:1-16; Colossians 3:12-17

3. We will restore trust as brothers and sisters in Christ by:

  • Honouring and trusting God’s work in each other’s lives
  • A leadership culture of servanthood, humility and transparency

Luke 22:27; John 13:1-35; Philippians 2:1-11; Hebrews 13:17; 1 Peter 5:1-10
